Account settings: profile, sender, and branding
Settings are split into four areas, each with its own save button. If you switch areas with unsaved changes, a confirmation appears before you lose them.
Profile
Your name, industry, and area or location. The subscriber count and the account creation date are shown for reference only and cannot be edited.
The industry is not a decorative label. It goes into the AI assistant's instructions as an identity, so it changes what the assistant writes, not just the tone.
Email sending
- Sender name: what appears in the inbox
- Sender address: the address your emails are sent from
- Reply-to address: where replies land, if this differs
- Physical address: sender identification in the footer
- Privacy policy link
The sender address starts the domain check
Type an address on your company domain and save it; the domain check starts from it, in the card above. A Gmail address, or one on another free provider, is refused when you save. The details, including what to do if you have no domain yet, are in the article about the sender address.
The physical address, if your company is registered at home
The toggle that displays the physical address is on by default. For a small company registered at the founder's home address, filling this in out of habit sends that home address to your entire list, on every campaign, and archives it in people's inboxes.
If you have a commercial address or a PO box, use it. If your registered office is your home, leave the field empty and turn off the Show physical address toggle in Branding. You stay identifiable through your privacy policy, whose link is in the footer anyway.
The two settings live in different sections, each with its own save button. Save twice, otherwise one of them stays unchanged.
Content and AI
Content language, website URL, AI instructions, and preferred style.
The instructions here and the Brand profile in Assistant settings cover the same thing. The brand profile is the newer home, and the field here stays the source until you first edit the profile. Fill in only one, otherwise you will not know which one produced the text.
Branding
- Logo: PNG, JPG, GIF, or WEBP, under 500KB. Without a logo, a monogram with your initials is used.
- Accent color and header background: the colors used in emails
- Default email design
- Social links: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X
- Email signature: text added automatically at the end of every email
The signature is free text and does not obey the physical address toggle. If you put the address there, remove it separately. On the free plan, emails also carry the ClevMail logo.
